Post Manager

Use this table to easily view the status of all your posts.

Helpful Tips:

  • LabPair saves post drafts here. If you don't have time to complete a post, you can always pick up where you left off.

  • If your posts contain similar information, choose the "Copy" option to save time

Post Creation
  • This is the first stage in a multi-step process to collect information about your data/samples

  • Don't have time to finish? No problem! A draft of your post will be saved the "Posts" menu

  • Note that most fields are optional- only fill out what applies to your particular resources.

Colleagues
  • 1) Saved Profiles. Profiles that have been saved using the "save profile" bookmark button that appears when viewing someone else's profile.

  • Use "save profile" to keep track of people you may interested in working with but don't actually know

  • 2) Close Colleagues. Individuals that you know if real life or that you have worked with in the past. Close Colleague connections must be requested.

  • Use mutual Close Colleagues to learn more about potential collaborators before extending an official offer of collaboration.

Collaboration Bandwidth
  • We know the door is always open for the perfect collaborations; however, some people are more open to collaboration proposals than others based on their level of staffing, funding, workload, or other external factors.

  • "Collaboration bandwidth" gives potential collaborators a sense of how likely you are to initiate a new research partnership.

Basic Profile Information
  • Complete your profile by clicking the edit button next to section.

  • Here you can manage information about your position, PI, and collaboration bandwidth.

Research and Expertise
  • Click the edit button in this section to manage your research fields. These can then be used to filter posts on your feed.

  • Add a brief synopsis of your research or scientific expertise

  • You can also add a laboratory webpage or copy of your CV (both optional)

Wishlist
  • Use this tool to create wishlist posts that notify others of resources that your are seeking

  • Below is a list of all your wishlist posts

  • The icons on the bottom right of each post show number of times the post has been viewed, liked, shared, replied to, emailed, and saved.

Posts
  • This is a list of the resources that you are offering. You can manage you posts using the shortcut button to the post manager.

  • The icons on the bottom right of each post show number of times the post has been viewed, liked, shared, replied to, emailed, and saved.

Representative Publications
  • Pick 3 publications showcase your research skills to potential collaborators

  • If you don't have 3 publications, add publications from the lab you work in

  • Add publications by clicking the button

  • Our DOI look-up tool imports the full citation using your publication's DOI number, making this process a snap!

Collaborations
  • This area shows feedback provided by other collaborators in the form of endorsements and reviews

  • These can be accessed under the "More" menu that appears at the top of the page when viewing another person's profile.

Collaborations
  • Use this menu to approve posts (if you're a PI) or check the approval status of posts that you've submitted (if you're a trainee).

Experimental Findings
  • Why should I fill this out ?

  • Researchers will soon have the ability to search experiments on LabPair based on experimental variables and the directionality of findings. This will be important in facilitating of metaanalyses, incorporating more negative results into research, and conducting reproducbility studies (i.e. understanding why experimental outcomes can vary from laboratory to laboratory).
